I was kind of curious myself and almost started a string like this.
Anyway, I guess I'll start this off. I decided to stay virgin when I was <10 years old. It was orginally religious. I went to a Lutheran church (about as close as you can get to Catholic) so I had a healthy fear of God's rath. However, My decision and resolve have only grown. All the couples I saw around me were breaking up because once the sexual passion was gone they had no reason to stay together. So I decided I wanted to have a strong bond with a woman before we get to that level.
I hope more people find the courage to post here. By the way I was wondering you never said your reason Natrualbeauty. Why did you remain a virgin for so long?

I think my reason for me not having sex yet is I never really had that much time for a boyfriend I was so in to afterschool activities.Boys thought that I was stuck up.I had boyfriends but they never got to much of my time.When they did get some time and found out I wasn't experience it didn't go that far they broke up with me.I never plan on being virgin this long to be honest.I always plan on losing my virginity on prom night.I'm glad I waited now I know I wasn't missing anything.

huh...
well.... where do i start. every single woman that i've ever admired has rejected me upon asking her out. ive never had a date. girls seem to not like me. im almost 20 years old and im lonely. thats why ive waited.... or been forced to i guess... wow, writing this makes me realize why women dont like me

Hmm...I'm a 22 year old female...and a virgin.
For me...I dated a guy all through high school, when we got into college, I was considering on losing my virginity to him. However, he then cheated on me with another girl. So that solved my dillemma. I haven't found another guy after that...cos I'm afraid to date and now, i'm just afraid of going out with any guy now because I'm still a virgin. LIke it's expected to sleep with a guy within a month or two...probably before that. No way would I ever do that.
I'm trying to get over my hurt and fears, though. it's frustrating. But there's no way I would ever sleep with a guy just to get it over with.

I waited because I respect my mom so much and she waited until she was married to sleep with my dad. They love and respect each other so much and I want to find that kind of relationship. I've dated lots of guys, had a 7month relationship that actually didn't end because I was a virgin, which was nice as it was the first relationship that didn't end becaus of that for me!! It's hard when you have values that very few people share to find the right man. Lots of guys and girls wnat to test out the merchandise before they buy it if you know what I mean, and I just can't offer that to anybody, if the merchandise gets tested too much then it's no longer new right? LOL Anyway, sorry, that's kidnof cheezy, I fully made that up on the spot. I'm just saying that I don't blame anybody who wants to have sex with somebody before sealing the deal and getting married because sex might be a very important aspect of their marriage, I just can't offer that to people as I guess sex is nto as importnat to me as having soembody that loves me unconditionally, respects me and makes me laugh, only so that I can return it all to him. I want a family man, not a sex crazed guy, although I wouldn't mind... I'm sure I'll love sex when the time comes, I definitely love everything else Ive done which is everything but sex... lol. Anyways, so yes, that's why I've waited, it has been jammed in my head since a kid, to wait. Even though soemtimes I feel left out and scared aboutthe future, when it comes down to it, I'm luck y that I've had such great role-models.

 Text Confuse, you stated that you did not want to disappoint your parents and did not want to have a baby. I also would share the same feelings and also some religious moral values. I have often times wondered how a girl would make the announcement of pregnacy to her parents. Surely it would be something other than at the breakfast table to say,"Hey Mom I am pregnant!" anybody had a pregnacy while single? How did you tell folks? (:)

My reason
I have a relativley good reason: I have psychriatric issues. Depression , anxiety, low self esteem I have been under the doctor for years. Besides that i'm a regular guy but those things are enough to effect my ability to Trust and get close to people but i'd rather have an intimate encounter with someone as to which it actually meant something rather than get my end away with some cheap tart who probably has all kinds of STD's from getting with different guys every weekend.
