Want to get opinions on if I am being scammed

Hi all,

This is my first post and I am really new to meeting a Russian woman on the net so please bear with me. I met a girl on the internet about a month ago, she said she is from Kirov Russia and we began talking back and forth. I was leary at first of course so I asked for her to send pictures with family which she did do for me. As time has gone on I have asked other things, one of which was if she needed money, and this was a test really to see where she was coming from. Well she got mad at me and stopped mailing for about a week. I felt like I have a right to be leary these days, but now we are talking again and she says she tells her parents about having met me and she is very happy. She corresponds every morning through e-mail. I asked her today for a mailing address so I could send a letter which would be more personal, plus this would let me know that she is at least IN Russia.
My question is, is there anything I can do to get a better feel for this? Can I give you guys some excerpts from e-mails or anything so you can help me feel more at ease? Really, just what should I do next?

Thanks,
Chad

My suggestion

Chad-

As suitors become smarter about scamming technics, so do the scammers about theirs.

Your post really does not provide CLEAR evidence that a scammer is obviously writing to you at this time, however the only way I will firmly suggest for you to do right now is:

1. Ask for her phone number, then call her as soon as possible. No-phone excuse will give me a cause to forget the acquiantance.

2. Surf the scammer websites to cross check her pictures.

Also . . .

Hey Chad,

As you get more serious with your gal, you may want to send a few roses (always odd numbers for flowers) and get a picture of her with the flowers - that way you know she is real and lives at a real address. I say this as I have been to Ukraine twice and know a little about how to securely make sure the gal you are writing is in fact nor Ygor or Ivan. :))

Good luck!

Scam

Chad...I married a Russian woman in 2001 after conversing with her for 14 months. I even asked a couple of Russian gals here to really quizz her. She "seemed" legit but after the fact "the marriage" she was a scammer. She split the week she got her status adjusted. I've found from knowing more than a dozen Russian women that they become westernized very quickly and in reality are then no different than the majority of american women. I know of maybe 3 that I would not consider materialistic living here with some american guys I know. It proved to me that women are women, and it does not matter what country they arrived from. In fact, they may be more materialistic coming from Russia as it is all Disneyland to them once here. I always urge men to remove the rose-colored glasses and forget the B.S. painted by these russian bridge web sites. They are not the reality of marrying a russian woman. The unofficial stats from my U.S. Congressman's office is less than 15% are successful. Also, ask yourself if you'd have that gorgeous woman if she's american? Gorgeous Russian women will eventually be looking for that gorgeous american man with money closer to their age. I've seen it time and time again. Also, look at the Yahoo and MSN personals and see the hundreds of Russian women on them who came here, got their cards, then split and are now wnating someone else. I went out with about 4 locally in Texas and ALL were the same///very materializtic and looking for excessive rich.

in the REAL WORLD...

Guys, I do searches for my clients for Russian women all day long, every day of the week. I search on FREE, local, really Russian (they are in Russian language) web sites. And you know what I find? Women are usually looking for men who are at the most 15 years older. Occasionally you will find a girl that will accept guys 20 years older. But the vast majority of 25 year old women will put in her profile that she is looking for a guy 26 to 35 years old!
Now somehow all that changes when you go on any web site marketing Russian women to Americans...and suddenly a 22 year old gorgeous girl would be willing to get to know and marry a 50 year old overweight, bold American man!
Come on, get a clue! Don't you think that she might have a different motivation other than love? The sad reality is that majority of women advertising on sites that market women to foreigners are opportunists and gold diggers. That's why 85% of these marriages end up in a divorce.
Most good, family oriented women are not going to look for a foreign husband! They don't want to leave their family, friends, career, culture and motherland behind!!! But they are lonely, they are single and since the ratio of available men in Russia is 1 man for every 8 women, they do have a very difficult time finding good men in Russia. So if you contact these women, who advertise on local Russian dating sites, not all of them, but some will be open to getting to know you better, becoming friends and then this could blossom into love and marriage. But these women will not be the gold diggers and opportunists, who have nothing to lose and want to use you as a step to get to America. They are honest, down to earth, family oriented women who trully want to have a family of their own, and they just can't find a decent guy where they live. That's the kind of woman I married (found her on one of these free russian dating sites) and we have a daughter together and very happy. She's had her green card for a while, and believe me she is not going anywhere! It is important before you marry someone to really communicate with them fluently, get to know what kind of a person she is, what values she possesses. Without doing this you are playing a Russian Roulette and will wind up one of these divorced guys!
It obviously helped me that I speak fluent Russian, I was born there afterall.
If you are interested I can help you find good women that will make you a happy man. You must have realistic expectations though.

wow,

This is some scary stuff

I too was idealistic but after hearing about all these scams and such, I might have to reconsider about finding a Russian Bride. Seems many of them just want a meal-ticket over here, then once they get their 'papers', they take off.

russian women - are they really exist?

It seems that here is the topic for woman-haters to post lie about Russian women or any beautiful woman, who don't like the idea to marry bold, farting loser.

Want to get opinions on if I am being scammed

Carolyn Burgos said that was not the case and he had to pay the balance due or a buyout for the balance of the lease. I asked why am I being notified now and not when my brother canceled the lease so I would have at least been given the chance to refinance the term of the lease and salvage my credit? She said they thought that I lived in Florida and did not known that I lived in New Jersey. I asked could I refi with Nissan she said no they would not. She said that she would call me back and I was to let her know what I was going do to.

I was afraid of a judgement or wage garnishement. To get a monthly payment I would have to pay 10% of balance to get low monthly payments. I could not do 10% so I said take what was due which was 422 taken out of my bank account on 6/9/07. To date 400 has come out of my account since July 07. I do not have a copy of the lease nor does my brother(with whom I longer have a relationship with). I called Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp directly they said I would have to call Creditors Interchange because the documents were mailed directly to Creditors Interchange on 7/24/07 and they said that they don't know why I did not receive a copy.
